Naturally, after achieving a high level of fame due to her reality show with Nick Lachey on MTV, it was only natural that Jessica turned her sights to the silver screen, as some of the pop stars of her generation have done, like Justin Timberlake, Mandy Moore, and a host of hit hip-hop artists.
Her first movie was a high profile vehicle right off the bat, being the 2005 remake of the beloved TV series “The Dukes of Hazzard”. She co-starred with MTV’s Johnny Knoxville and Sean William Scott in a film that eventually went on to gross over $100 million worldwide, a respectable hit by Hollywood standards. Her remake of Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Were Made For Walking” for the soundtrack was also a hit for her.
Her next film was the comedy “Employee of the Month” in 2006, and it wasn’t as popular, debuting at No.4 on the box office rankings. That was an even better response than her last film got though. “Blonde Ambition” (with Luke Wilson)was released in December of 2007, and practically went straight to DVD, due to it being leaked on the net after a limited run in Texas.
Well, she’s still popular anyway, and set to make a cameo in Mike Myers’ upcoming “The Love Guru”, so you won’t have to wait long to catch her onscreen again other than at some red carpet event. Besides, there are still those “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica” complete season DVD compilations to enjoy everytime you’re hankering for more video of this Texas hottie.
